With the nickname “MF,” Chris’ Magic Fingers demonstrate his practiced agility in creating works of art for the sushi enthusiast. The attention to detail is seen in every dish but don’t expect the standard rolls and teriyaki. Here, it’s all about the fish – the finest cuts of succulent “toro” or fatty tuna, yellowtail, flounder, sea bass, scallops, monkfish and more attract the hard-core sushi connoisseurs. Although rolls are available and change in design every few weeks, the owners prefer to deliver on adventure with their generous servings of fish. MENU: ***** MF serves primarily hard-to-find, high-quality sushi and sashimi varieties that are flown in daily. Fresh wasabi is available and may be grated at your table to perfectly complement the well-built portions of fish and rice. Vegetarian options are minimal. The novel rolls are large and exotic yet dilute the opportunity to taste the fine cuts of fish. FOOD QUALITY: ***** Chef Chris Kinjo and his sushi staff are meticulous in their selection and preparation of sushi dishes, and the distinction is seen in every plate and every move of their magic fingers on the freshest fish and ingredients in town. FOOD PRESENTATION: **** Generous portions artistically displayed in the sleek, impressive style of the restaurant accompanied by rich Japanese style earthenware. Every detail is managed. ATMOSPHERE: **** Four dozen tables and a sushi bar fill a cosmopolitan Euro-Asian space designed by Alex, an accomplished designer. Techno beats create a hip scene that attracts an urban, chic crowd. Japanese tradition is seen in Japanese art, simple orchids and fixtures throughout. Seats at the sushi bar are in high demand and provide a great form of entertainment by MF himself. CLEANLINESS: ***** The sushi bar is immaculately maintained in the Japanese tradition. SERVICE: ***** Warm, knowledgeable and efficient, the staff aims to please as much as Alex, who manages guests at the front door, and Chef Chris, who manages the food quality and preparation as head sushi chef and sushi bar master.
