| LANDMARK DINER ~ very casual *** 3652 Roswell Road Atlanta, GA (404) 816-9090 MENU: **** In true diner fashion, everything you can think of is included on the menu. If you’ve had one too many martinis, this is the place to take your weary stomach. You can choose from soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, finger foods and blue-plate specials. Entrees include seafood, steaks, chicken and veal. For breakfast, you will find omelets as well as a number of breakfast platters. FOOD QUALITY: ** The quality of the food is good but not always fresh. Several items on the menu were previously frozen, which is typical of a restaurant with a menu this large – Not necessarily what you would call fine dining. Landmark boasts decent food at a decent price. FOOD PRESENTATION: *** Food is served on plain diner-style dishes. There are no fancy sauces or decorations; The standard pickle spears accompany burgers. ATMOSPHERE: *** The atmosphere is comfortable in that diner sort of way. The counter invites you to have a milkshake, and the booths provide a nice place to relax and read the paper with your breakfast. Overall, the surroundings are true to diner style. CLEANLINESS: ** The overall appearance of the restaurant is clean, but it does have room for improvement. The bathroom counter could be wiped down more often and the supplies restocked more frequently. The condiments on the tables are a little sticky. It’s not unclean – just your typical 24-hour joint that is a little rough around the edges. SERVICE: *** Service is friendly but not overtly. Meals are served in a timely matter, but no one is rushing around at your beck and call. MENU RECOMMENDATIONS: The burgers are excellent as is the pastrami Reuben. The vegetable omelet is delicious, served with toast and home fries. Landmark also serves a variety of egg platters, waffles, pancakes and French toast. If you decide to walk on the wild side and order from the dinner entrees, try the meatloaf, country-fried steak, eggplant parmigiana or fried jumbo shrimp. There is a whole section of pasta dishes, grilled and fried seafood and even rack of lamb. As with any diner, it’s always best to stick with the more common diner fare. OVERALL RATING: *** Landmark serves a great burger, a large variety of tasty omelets and offers an atmosphere that is enjoyable for what it is.
