The bread at Corner Café is fresh, delicious and bountiful, baked right next store at the Buckhead Bread Company. This European-styled bakery and café is a great brunch/lunch spot for any day of the week. On the weekends, while youre waiting to be seated, you can browse (and sample) the varieties of bread sold and take a loaf of your favorite home for the rest of the week. A member of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, Corner Café lives up to its membership in this elite restaurant organization. MENU: **** A diverse selection of soups and salads as well as a variety of sandwiches served on specialty breads are offered for lunch. The weekday menu features both breakfast and lunch options and a special brunch menu is available on weekends. FOOD QUALITY: **** Dishes are prepared and served fresh. Hot food arrives hot, and cold food arrives cold. FOOD PRESENTATION: *** Salads are built to be pleasing to the eye, and garnishes are a plenty. Brunch specialties such as the smoked salmon platter are piled high with ingredients. ATMOSPHERE: *** Corner Café has lots of windows that open up the restaurant to sunlight, enlisting a warm, cozy atmosphere. Its a relaxing and comfortable place to visit for coffee and pastries or to eat a full meal. CLEANLINESS: **** The restaurant is very clean and sanitary. Floors are swept often. SERVICE: *** Service is inconsistent and depends on the day you go. MENU RECOMMENDATIONS: The roasted chicken breast on focacia topped with smoked mozzarella cheese, Dijon mayonnaise and red onion is a must. As a side item, the salt and pepper potatoes (red-skinned potatoes tossed with olive oil, onions, peppers and seasonings) are a nice substitute for the ordinary French fries offered in most restaurants. For breakfast or brunch, the French toast is a delicacy not to be missed. The blackened chicken breast Caesar salad with jalapeno cheddar croutons is a crowd pleaser. As for the selection of breads, the pretzel bread is wonderful and the raisin pecan bread provides the perfect end to a meal for those looking for something sweet. OVERALL RATING: **** Corner Café is best described as an upscale restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and brunch. The menu can be a bit pricey, but the menu choices are original, the quality of the food and ingredients are superb, and the atmosphere is comfortable and refined. If you dont have the time to commit to sit and eat, the Buckhead Bread Company next door is a great place to stop and pick up breads and pastries for the road. review by Stephanie Morris |
