Its unique style and menu choices offer flavors to suit many different tastes. Sharing dishes is a great way to sample a few of the menu highlights. MENU: **** Upscale Chinese cuisine includes beef, chicken, duck and seafood entrees along with rice or noodles dishes that can also be prepared vegetarian. FOOD QUALITY: ***** Sauces and seasonings are flavorful and original. Whole pieces of fish are fresh. It’s clear that nothing has been prepared in advance. Rather, dishes are freshly made to order. FOOD PRESENTATION: **** Food is served with beautiful garnishes. Their signature dessert is a homemade tangerine sorbet presented in its own mini fried pastry nest surrounded by fresh fruit that looks almost too good to eat. ATMOSPHERE: **** Though it’s located in Chastain square, you’ll forget you are at a strip mall once you step foot inside the restaurant. Candlelight tables and mirrored walls make for a romantic evening. A piano bar sets a relaxed mood (often played by the owner himself.) CLEANLINESS: **** The restaurant is very clean. Servers are dressed neatly in tuxedos, and plates are removed promptly after each course. SERVICE: **** Service is smooth and professional. Servers promptly check in to make sure customer needs are met and water glasses are never left empty. MENU RECOMMENDATIONS: The hot and sour soup has just the right amount of heat to get your heart pumping. The chicken and pine nut appetizer is also recommended and is served on a bed of crispy sugary spinach that melts in your mouth. For entrées, the hot and spicy shrimp is not for the weak hearted. The flavors in this dish are robust, delicious, and yes, very hot – a spice-lover’s dream. Another favorite is the beef tenderloin. The homemade tangerine or mango sorbet, which is presented in its own edible pastry basket surrounded by fruit, is not to be missed. OVERALL RATING: **** Chopstix is an all-around great place to dine. It’s definitely more expensive than other Chinese fare you will find in Atlanta, but this is not your average Chinese restaurant.
