CHERRY ~ upscale casual ****
1051 West Peachtree Street
Atlanta, GA 30309
(404) 872-2020

MENU: ***
This menu is rather small compared to other Atlanta restaurants. It boasts a global comfort-food theme, however, that appeals to a variety of palates. Menu highlights feature Southwestern cuisine as well as Thai and classic Southern-style cooking.

FOOD QUALITY: *****
Only the freshest-quality seafood, beef and produce are used, sticking to what chef Khoi Phan believes is so important.

FOOD PRESENTATION: ***
Flashy presentation is not the ultimate goal here; instead, emphasis is put on the quality of the ingredients, which speaks for itself.

ATMOSPHERE: ****
The building is a turn-of-the-century estate transformed into a groovy 21st century eatery. The decor is slick, hip and very rich. There are warm red and gold tones throughout the restaurant, which creates an inviting space. The walls have unique applications, paint techniques and mosaic wall designs that give an exquisite palace feel.

CLEANLINESS: ****
The wait stations are kept tidy with storage bins and keen organization. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy, from the bathrooms to the dining area.

SERVICE: ***
The service is adequate. Servers are knowledgeable and patient with menu questions, but they don’t seem overly friendly or warm.

MENU RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Pacific calamari, adobo chicken rolls and lobster potstickers are delicious. The Caesar salad is crisp and fresh with a light, flavorful dressing. The mixed grilled satay is a light, savory dish of sweet scallops and marinated tenderloin with jasmine rice and stir-fry vegetables. Also try the Southern-inspired pork loin chop served with macaroni and cheese and sautéed spinach. The roasted chicken roulade, grilled tenderloin medallions, pepper seared ahi tuna and lobster ravioli round out the menu. The dessert menu is also diverse. Try the decadent gingerbread crème brulee and the roasted banana cheesecake.

OVERALL : ****
I enjoyed the food at Cherry but more so the atmosphere. I would visit Cherry more for a girl‘s night out to enjoy drinks and appetizers and not for the ultimate dinner destination.
