| BLUE RIDGE GRILL ~ upscale casual **** 1261 West Paces Ferry Road Atlanta, GA 30327 (404) 233-5030 Blue Ridge Grill is warm and inviting before you even walk through the front door. Inside, you will be pleased to find the mountain theme invites you to come in, sit down, and discover the relaxing, comfort of the mountains. MENU: **** This a la carte menu is a spruced up version of your grandma's favorite recipes. Fresh seafood, cuts of beef and home-style vegetables provide simplistic American dishes with a taste that is anything but. This is not the most elaborate menu in town, but it includes some timeless classics. FOOD QUALITY: ***** The menu is centered on fresh seafood, beef and vegetables. The wonderful use of sauces and fresh herbs gives a welcome depth to the flavors of classic American cuisine. FOOD PRESENTATION: ***** The food presentation is wonderful. ATMOSPHERE: ***** With a warm atmosphere and true-to-life decor, you will start to believe this is a chalet among snow-capped mountains. The cozy cabin does not have the crisp look of many Atlanta eateries. Instead, it has an inviting and charming ambience, including a stacked stone fireplace and a front porch where you can relax after dinner in a rocking chair. CLEANLINESS: ***** The cleanliness of the restaurant is top notch. If you are a fan of the slick, clean lines found in the new breed of restaurants, you might feel that you've stepped onto the set of City Slickers, Part 4. The rustic feel of this restaurant gives the feeling of being in someones home. Well, someone with a butler, chef and a maid. SERVICE: ***** From the warm, welcome smile you receive upon entering to the friendly bartender and the prompt, helpful servers, this restaurant sets the standard for stellar service. MENU RECOMMENDATIONS: **** The jumbo onion rings are the perfect appetizer. For salads, try the oyster salad, Caesar or the fantastically rich warm goat cheese salad. As the menu is high on fresh seafood, try the hickory-grilled whole fish, Georgia trout, crab cakes or lobster tail, which are all excellent. The horseradish-crusted grouper is topped with a subtle orange cream sauce a different, distinct flavor. The a la carte vegetables are outstanding, offering everything from fresh asparagus and green beans to a sinful corn soufflé or Parmesan cheese grits. OVERALL RATING: **** You will leave Blue Ridge Grill feeling like you experienced a mini vacation. If you don't mind paying for the trip, you will feel pampered by the attentive service, wonderfully prepared meal and the relaxing atmosphere. review by Nikki Brown |
